Overview

Monarchy	Monarchy increases production of coal, stones and iron, but generation of knowledge points and population growth drops slightly.	Monarchy is a political system based upon the undivided sovereignty of a single person, the monarch. Succession is usually passed from father to son or follows other arrangements within the family or the monarchical dynasty.
Aristocracy	Aristocracy increases production of stone, coal and food, but negatively affects production of gold and population growth.	Aristocracy is a form of government that places power in the hands of a small, privileged ruling class whose members are seen as the best qualified citizens. The ruling class is opposed to monarchy as a rule of the individual as well as democracy as a rule of people.
Democracy	Democracy increases production of gold, food and birth rate, but negatively affects innovation progress and coal and iron production.	Democracy is a system of government in which all the people of a state are involved in making decisions about its affairs either directly when all eligible citizens have direct and active participation in the political decision making, or indirectly through elected representatives.
Republic	Republic increases slightly production of gold, food and stones, and generally means a good resource usage balance.	Republic is a form of government in which power resides in elected individuals representing the citizen body. It is based on the idea that sovereignty rests with the people. The people do not govern the state themselves, but instead elect their representatives who rule according to law and are responsible to their voters.
Empire	Empire increases production of all resources except for gold and considerably decreases production of knowledge.	An empire is defined as a state of great territory with a multi-ethnic population united and ruled by a central authority either by military force or political power. Usually it is the central authority culturally and ethnically distinct from other groups within the state.
Despotism	Despotism increases considerably production of stones, iron and coal, but negatively affects all other resources.	Despotism is a form of government in which a single entity rules with absolute power, being it an individual or a group. The despot wields all the power and authority embodying the state.
