Aggressors: Ancient Rome Wiki

Iron is a resource in Aggressors: Ancient Rome. Iron is mainly used for recruiting and modernizing armies, and it is mined in iron ore mines.

Transition to the iron age meant a huge change in the lives of people both in the cities and in the countryside, and it paved the road to industrial revolution later on. Iron is vital if you want to modernize and expand your armies, but the demand for iron will grow with the growing numbers of soldiers.

  • Iron is obtained from iron ore mines. A mine within a 3-tile range from a city increases its production by 50%, connecting it with a blacksmith by dirt road increases the production by 100%, and by paved roads by 150%. Iron shortages can be bridged by seizing a foreign mine or in desperate times by destroying your own cities and taking iron used in old buildings.
